It's All About Olives
The Five Main Cultivars Produced On The Farm Are Mission, Manzanilla, Barouni, Kalamata And Noceralla Del Belicce.
Mission
Mission is by far the most popular cultivar grown in South Africa. The Mission cultivar originates from California, is very versatile and can be used to cultivate natural black and green table olives and olive oil.
Manzanilla
The Manzanilla Cultivar is of Spanish origin and is widely cultivated. This is the most popular table olive cultivar grown internationally. Because of it’s resemblance to the fruit, the word also means “little apple” in the Spanish language
Barouni
Barouni Olives is a variety originally from North Africa. These large olives are harvested when green and are all packed as queen-size olives.
Kalamata
The Kalamata variety is mostly grown in the southern region of the Peloponnese, Greece. The fruit is medium-sized and has one curved side, giving it a pretty almond shape. These olives have an excellent texture, taste and aroma and are harvested when black.
Nocellara del Belice
Nocellara del Belice is an olive cultivar from the Valle del Belice area of South-Western Sicily. It is a dual-purpose olive cultivar, grown both for oil and table. Nocellara del Belice olives are grown primarily in Sicily, but also in India, Pakistan and South Africa.
